Departing from the Rt. 3 put-in at Northeast Creek

Flowing from Thomas Bay and into the heart of the Emery district, Northeast Creek is one of MDI’s largest marsh systems. It’s home to wading birds and waterfowl, beavers, muskrats, and other wildlife. Join MCHT staff for a three-mile canoe trip on Northeast Creek to learn about the ecologically rich waterway, the recent water quality study, and ongoing conservation of this beautiful place. 

Canoes and paddles will be provided. 

What to bring:
  • Layers & weather-appropriate attire 
  • Shoes that can get wet 
  • Extra water & snacks 
  • Personal Floatation Device, if you like, but we’ll also bring some 
  • Binoculars (optional)
