Wednesday Winter Walks

Brave the cold and join us on Wednesdays for a gentle walk around Woodward Point Preserve. Together, we will explore this special preserve and all it has to offer during the beautiful winter months.

Winter Walk at Clark Island Preserve
St. George | 10:00 a.m. — 12:00 p.m.
Join us at Clark Island Preserve for a winter morning walk guided by MCHT naturalist, Kirk Gentalen. Birds and marine life, tracks in snow, or snow fleas and mushrooms are just a few of the things we might discover.

Wildlife Tracking with Kirk Gentalen
Brunswick | 9:30 a.m. — 11:00 a.m.
Join us for a morning of wildlife tracking at Woodward Point Preserve! We’ll explore some of the winter wildlife stories that Woodward Point Preserve in Brunswick has to offer.

Full Moon Hike: Snow Moon
Brunswick | 6:00 pm — 7:30 pm
Traditionally known as the “snow moon,” the February full moon will illuminate the mysteries of the natural world at night – come and explore it with us! Enjoy a gentle, guided hike around Woodward Point under the light of the full moon.

Winter Animal Tracking Walk
Rockport | 9:30 am — 12:00 p.m.
Join MCHT steward and naturalist, Kirk Gentalen, for a lively all-ages morning outdoors! We’ll discover some of the wildlife stories that Erickson Fields Preserve in Rockport has to offer.

Knox County Food Council Presentation
Online | 5:00 pm — 6:00 pm
In 2022, 19,514 pounds of fresh produce was grown at Erickson Fields Preserve in Rockport and distributed to area hunger relief agencies, and friends and neighbors in Knox County. Join us online to hear about the collaboration!

Winter Walk at Clark Island

Join MCHT land steward and naturalist Kirk Gentalen for an all-ages winter walk at Clark Island Preserve in St. George. We’ll look for clues to the animal’s winter habits and the special things you can discover on a winter’s day in the woods and shore of Clark Island.

Film: A Watershed Moment
Portland | 6:30 pm — 8:30 pm
RESCHEDULED to MARCH 11: Join us for a free screening at SPACE Gallery in Portland for this inspirational film short recounting a five-year project to restore the alewife run to the Bagaduce River and the diverse group of partners who made it happen.

Winter Walk at Clark Island Preserve

Join us for a late-winter walk at Clark Island Preserve with MCHT naturalist Kirk Gentalen. We hunt for clues to the animals who live here and search for signs that the flora is getting ready for spring.
