Trevor Herrick, Regional Stewardship Manager

Trevor was born and raised in Bar Harbor and spent his youth exploring Acadia and the region’s trails, beaches and bays. Working as a sternman on lobster boats for 7 years including in the winter, he discovered his love and respect for working on the water. This led to obtaining a US Coast Guard Captains License in 2010. He spent 8 years as a merchant mariner based out of New York City while always longing for the sights and smells of the Gulf of Maine in contrast to the sprawling city coastlines along the Eastern seaboard. He became a Registered Maine Guide in 2017 and enjoys hiking, exploring, lobstering, hunting and watching wildlife.
Trevor lives in Somesville with his wife and two young children.
Trevor has been with MCHT since 2022.
On Land Conservation: “I am proud to be a part of retaining access for hikers, anglers, commercial harvesters, explorers, boaters, and nature lovers. Conserving certain land for reasons like wildlife habitat, access to outdoor recreation and preserving local heritage can be a complex balance, but I love being a part of this work in a region that means so much to me.”
On the Job: Trevor stewards the eastern portion of the MDI region including preserves in the towns of Gouldsboro, Hancock, Swans Island, Winter Harbor, Frenchboro and Isle Au Haut.
