Rachel Lennox, Senior Director of Finance and Administration

Rachel Lennox is a Certified Public Accountant with a background in nonprofit finance and operations, built through her experience in both public accounting and as the Chief Financial Officer of an independent school. She brings a practical, collaborative approach to financial leadership, with experience supporting organizational strategy, leading audits, strengthening financial systems, and overseeing complex budgets and investments. Her work focuses on helping mission-driven organizations operate effectively, plan for the long term, and make thoughtful, strategic decisions about their resources.

On land conservation: “Growing up in Maine, I’ve always enjoyed spending time outdoors and appreciated the physical and mental benefits it offers. I believe the natural beauty of Maine’s coastline should be preserved and remain accessible for future generations.”

On the job: Rachel oversees MCHT’s finance, human resources, information technology, and administrative functions. This includes leading financial planning and reporting, managing investments and audits, overseeing HR policies and staff development, and ensuring IT systems effectively support MCHT’s day-to-day work and long-term goals. She works closely with the leadership team and Board to set priorities and align resources with strategic goals in order to strengthen MCHT’s financial health and ability to advance its mission.
