Michelle Hennessey, Communications Manager

Michelle brings extensive communications and marketing experience with a personal dedication to conservation to MCHT. She holds a graduate degree in journalism from Boston University and has worked in a strategic capacity for several content marketing companies elevating brands through compelling storytelling. With a foundation in writing and editing, Michelle has also freelanced for state and private organizations focused on marine research and aquaculture.
Michelle is thrilled to be able to use her professional skills to protect a state that has held special significance her entire life. Outside of work you can usually find her trudging through the mud on her friend’s oyster farm or SCUBA diving along the coast.
On land conservation: “Maine is a place that still feels untamed, but it is facing more pressure than ever to stay that way. The conservation of wild landscapes goes beyond the environment—safeguarding natural spaces positively impacts people and communities and helps preserve Maine’s unique way of life.”
On the job: Michelle advances MCHT’s mission by crafting high-quality written content, managing core publications, and producing communications that strengthen donor engagement and elevate MCHT’s visibility.
