Linda Lidov, Director of Communications

Linda has over 25 years of communications experience, including over 15 years of leadership experience, in the nonprofit, government and private sectors. Her career has been defined by a deep commitment to advancing land and water conservation, community engagement, and inclusive storytelling.
Most recently, Linda served as director of membership and communications—and later as interim executive director—at Keep It Colorado, a coalition representing 56 land trusts and conservation groups. In these roles, she led transformative communications initiatives that elevated the profile of private land conservation statewide and strengthened relationships across a diverse coalition of stakeholders. Her leadership helped increase coalition membership, reach broader audiences, and elevate the economic and ecological benefits of conservation, while stewarding major partnerships and funding relationships.
Linda has a bachelor’s degree in French and speaks fluent French. She enjoys hiking, gardening, traveling, studying language, dancing, and spending time with her husband and her dog, Santos.
On land conservation: “I’ve been exploring the outdoors since I was a child, and can’t imagine life without it. Nature offers more than a respite from our busy lives; it’s essential to our mental and physical wellbeing, and our survival. As someone once said to me: ‘They’re not making any more land. We need to do what we can to protect it.’ I’m grateful to play a small role in taking care of Maine’s lands and waters for the benefit of all, and for the benefit of nature itself.”
On the job: Linda leads strategic communications initiatives that elevate the benefits of conservation and engage more people in taking care of Maine’s lands, waters, wildlife and communities.
