Erin Espinosa, Farm Program Coordinator

Born and raised in Eastern Massachusetts, Erin moved to Waldoboro, Maine seeking a more land-based lifestyle. Her love for the outdoors and farming started at a young age as she visited her grandfather’s farm and grew a garden at her hometown’s community farm.
Erin earned a B.S in Environmental Science with a Concentration in Natural Resource Management and Certificate in Social Justice Leadership from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. However, she attributes her knowledge and skills in vegetable farming and environmental education to her diverse, hands-on work experiences and relationships with mentors in the field.
Prior to joining MCHT as a Farm Program Coordinator, Erin previously held positions as Farm Manager at Chestnut Hill Farm in Southborough, MA, Farm Education Manager at Gaining Ground in Concord, MA and Lead Educator at The New Garden Society in Boston, MA. Her work experience at the intersection of agriculture, education, and food justice is fueled by her desire to collectively meet the needs of all people and connect communities to the lands that sustain us.
Outside of farming, Erin is an avid dancer formerly teaching and choreographing in genres such as modern, contemporary, salsa, bachata, country 2-step, and swing. She and her partner are currently rehabilitating fallow farmland in their free time.
On land conservation: “Land conservation ensures ecological services can sustain ourselves for generations to come and protects the opportunity to heal and grow through emotional and spiritual connections to nature.”
On the job: Erin engages youth and adults of all abilities in educational and nature-based programs at Aldermere Farm and Erickson Fields Preserve in Rockport, Maine.
