Chris Cabot, Conservation Project Manager
Chris has worked to protect Maine’s natural and working landscapes since 2008. He earned a master’s degree in conservation biology from Antioch University New England where he focused on field naturalist skills, forest ecology, and conservation planning.
Before coming to MCHT, Chris worked for Maine Farmland Trust and three local land trusts. Through his conservation career, he has assisted many Maine families with important land protection decisions and supported numerous municipalities with their conservation goals.
Chris lives with his wife and three children in North Yarmouth, where he has served on various town committees. Chris spends any available free time outside on boats, camping, fishing, managing chickens and gardens, and processing firewood.
Chris has worked at MCHT since 2026.
On land conservation: “People are often very passionate about the land and waters they own or use to feed their families. Land protection is a tool we can use to ensure that properties continue to function as they have for generations.”
On the job: As a Conservation Project Manager, Chris facilitates land protection projects, primarily in some of the most densely populated portions of Maine from greater Portland to the southern Midcoast. He has expertise in working landscapes and the ecology of Maine’s forests.
