Bill and Keefer Irwin of Steuben, ME, reflect on their connection to Maine Coast Heritage Trust’s Long Point Preserve in Machiasport.

Long Point was conserved in 2013 and is now open to the public—forever.

"We are so fortunate, in these times of uncertainty, to still find a place that offers healing and solace. This special place was in existence thousands upon thousands of years ago, another culture lived their lives here, existing on the land - their signs still in place to tell their stories…. This is where we find ourselves today with magic all around us.

"This place would not be, if not for MCHT. We not only appreciate the importance of MCHT’s work, but we are honored to be part of The Legacy Circle.”
