At this volunteer workday, we’ll be working at the Bay Ridge Trail on the Mason Bay Preserve. Trail work activities will include lopping overgrown vegetation, cutting the trail corridor, and swamping down limbs.
No prior trail‑work experience is needed. Please just bring a willingness to help and enjoy a productive day in a beautiful area.
What to bring:
- water bottle
- personal snacks
- bug spray
- small backpack to bring personal gear into work area
What to wear:
- work gloves
- sturdy shoes
- weather-appropriate clothing
Our Regional Stewards appreciate help caring for the land, especially with trailwork in the summer, when many of our preserves are at their busiest. In fact, we have recurring workdays on the third Wednesday and last Saturday of each month at various preserves in Washington County. If you’d like to volunteer at the Mason Bay Preserve Volunteer Workday, or would like to be on our volunteer mailing list for Washington County, please send an email to Cathy Lookabaugh with the subject line: MCHT Downeast Volunteer. Cathy will provide more information on the location and details of upcoming workdays.
Questions? For more information, please email Cathy Lookabaugh.
