Join Maine Coast Heritage Trust and Maine Master Naturalists at Milbridge Commons for a very special night to celebrate our nocturnal winged friends! We’ll spend the evening learning all about moths as we explore the night using all of our senses.
Part of National Moth Week and to help contribute to our knowledge of moths, their biodiversity and geographical distribution, we will attempt to observe moths using a lighted sheet in hopes of photographing, identifying, and documenting moths for citizen science. We will also discover more about moths – using our sense of smell, matching caterpillar pairs, and through additional games and coloring activities.
Come ready to learn, observe and have fun! Please bring a headlamp to help with night-time walking.
