The Island Soundscape Project (ISP) presents Soundmarks, an immersive sound installation based on recordings gathered at a wide variety of different Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT) preserves. Soundmarks will be at the George B. Dorr Museum at College of the Atlantic this summer!
Soundmarks is an ever-changing soundscape that interposes sounds from an audio database recorded over a span of two years at MCHT sites from southern Maine up through Washington County. As such, this piece is a compression of the sonic experiences available to preserve visitors and outlines the contours of Maine’s unique soundscape.
Dorr Museum is open June 23- Sept 5, Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-5pm.. The installation will be up through the end of August.
Soundmarks is presented thanks to the generous support of the Maine Coast Heritage Trust.
