Eliza joined MCHT as the Assistant to the Director of Stewardship. She was born and raised in Wayne, Maine. Eliza attended Keene State College in New Hampshire where she graduated with a BA in Journalism. Eliza was drawn to MCHT by a desire to feel more connected to her community and a passion for preserving Maine’s natural beauty. When she’s not at work Eliza spends her time either outside hiking, swimming, and biking, or inside tending to her plants and her numerous cooking projects. She currently lives in Topsham with her husband John and their two cats.
Eliza joined MCHT in 2020.
On land conservation: “I grew up playing in the undeveloped forest behind my house, this freedom to learn and explore helped shape my childhood. The work we do in land conservation ensures that these sorts of places will be around for future generations to experience and enjoy as well.”
On the job: Eliza handles the administrative duties and record keeping for the stewardship department. She also currently manages the Richard G. Rockefeller Conservation Internship Program.
