At 3,100 acres, Scarborough Marsh is the largest salt marsh in the state, and home to countless plants and animals—including 27 endangered, threatened, rare or declining bird species. Friends of Scarborough Marsh, the Maine Audubon Society, and other conservation organizations have worked hard over the decades to protect this special estuary.
