Horseshoe Crabs on MCHT’s Lane Island Preserve

Every year in late May and early June, horseshoe crabs come to mate on Lanes Island Preserve in Yarmouth and other places on the coast of Maine. MCHT land steward Caitlin Gerber paid a visit to Lanes to introduce us to these “living fossils” and share more fun facts about what makes them so unique. Learn more about Lanes Island.
