New Lands to Discover
2014 was a busy year for coastal land protection efforts. Maine Coast Heritage Trust (in partnership with Federal, State, and local partners) protected more than 1,400 acres from Cumberland County to Cobscook Bay.

Lower Weskeag Fields and Forests

Saltwater Farm in Bernard Conserved for Public Access
With support from donors to its recent Mount Desert Island Land Conservation Initiative, MCHT purchased the property from the Kelley family who have lived there for over half a century.
Getting Outdoors in Lubec
This fall Maine Coast Heritage Trust’s Regional Steward Melissa Lee joined Lubec Outing Club members on foot and by bike, as they played outdoors and explored their rugged coastline.
Pond Island Paradise
Thanks to a generous donation, Pond Island is now a MCHT preserve that offers visitors spectacular views in all directions–from Mount Desert Island to Isle au Haut.
