This year we welcome 7 summer staff (in addition to our summer help at Aldermere Farm) to help our Regional Stewards keep Maine’s coast beautiful and accessible. If you’re visiting an MCHT Preserve this summer, and see a hard-working steward, say hi and thank them for their good work!
This fall, MCHT partnered with three experiential learning school programs at our Erickson Fields Preserve in Rockport. The collaboration proved fruitful for eight young gardeners eager to engage with nature, serve their community, and attain personal, educational goals.
With support from donors to its recent Mount Desert Island Land Conservation Initiative, MCHT purchased the property from the Kelley family who have lived there for over half a century.
