Development and Events Internship
This full-time internship position provides administrative support and hands-on event work for a busy 11-person development team at Maine Coast Heritage Trust, a state-wide coastal land trust based in the Topsham, Maine office. The job requires a combination of regular work hours in the office, occasional travel to events, and some evening and weekend work.
Maine Coast Heritage Trust is a nonprofit organization that conserves and stewards Maine’s coastal lands and islands for their renowned scenic beauty, ecological values, outdoor recreation opportunities, and contribution to community well-being. MCHT provides statewide conservation leadership through its work with land trusts, coastal communities, and other partners.
The position encompasses a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:
- assisting with event registration and event communications
- attending events and participating in set-up and break-down
- preparing mailings, assembling major donor packets, and assisting with major donor and board correspondence
- helping with donor stewardship processes
- other tasks as needed.
The successful candidate will be a quick learner, team player, and enjoy working with the public in event settings. This internship will provide a robust introduction to the principles of nonprofit fundraising, land conservation, and event production.
Desirable skills include some familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Constant Contact, and social media platforms.
A car is useful but not required and candidates should be comfortable with traveling to islands via small boats.
Hours: 40 hours a week. June 14 – August 22, 2020.
Wage: $12.50/hour. (Housing is not provided.)
