Join local area partners for a paddle on the Orange River in celebration of the water trail. The day will include:

  • Two Paddle Options:
    • Orange Lake to Estey Mountain (approximately a 2-mile paddle)
    • Playhouse Lane to Estey Mountain (approximately a 1.5-mile paddle)
  • Campfire and Picnic: The two paddling groups will meet at DCC’s new Estey Campsite for a campfire and picnic. Please bring your own snacks and lunch. A special treat of smoked alewives will be provided!
  • Optional guided hike up to the summit of Estey Mountain

We will plan to take-out and end the day at Cobscook Shores’ Reynold Brook launch, a very short paddle from the lunch rest stop, then shuttle participants back to their vehicles.

What to bring: Please bring your own boat, paddles, and life jackets if you have them. As well as your own lunch, snacks, and water. Please dress accordingly and be prepared for weather and bugs! Bring an extra layer and a hat. Be sure you wear waterproof footwear or shoes you don’t mind getting wet.

Don’t have a boat? There are a limited number of boats available free of charge upon request. Please indicate your need from a boat on the registration form.

How to get there: We’ll meet at the MCHT Office at 160 US Rt. 1 in Whiting at 9am, then carpool to the launch sites.
