Next Wave Circle: Climate Change on the Maine Coast
What you’ll learn:
Maine’s coast is changing – and fast. Warming temperatures, rising seas, and extreme weather are taking a toll on the coast we love.
Land conservation is one of the most effective ways to reduce those negative impacts, and we want to give you and your fellow members of MCHT’s Next Wave Circle an in-depth look at the work you’re making possible to do this.
MCHT’s conservation and community planner, Jeremy Gabrielson, will give a presentation that encompasses several strategies for making the coast more resilient – work the MCHT is carrying out today in your backyards as well as across the entire coast.
Saving critical wildlife habitat, restoring coastal rivers to save fisheries, and protecting Maine’s salt marshes are a few highlights.
Senior conservation and community planner Jeremy Gabrielson will give you insight into MCHT’s Rivers Initiative and Marshes for Tomorrow Initiatives that are mapping out this work right now.
Join us for an information-packed 45-minute presentation. Jeremy makes it easy to understand and there will be plenty of time for your questions at the end.
Next Wave Circle
We’ve created a series of in-depth experiences for members of the Next Wave Circle (donors under 50 making an annual gift of $500 or more) to bring you closer to the work you make possible. Come learn about important topics in conservation and give us your feedback. We want to hear from you!
As one of our most passionate supporters, you’re also one of MCHT’s best ambassadors. Have a friend who wants to learn more about MCHT and the Next Wave? You’re welcome to bring them too!
