Maine Coast Sojourn Preview
Timothy P. Wilson at Cove Street Arts
This year, in celebration of Maine Coast Heritage Trust’s 50th anniversary, MCHT and artist Timothy P. Wilson embarked on a collaboration titled “Maine Coast Sojourn.”
Throughout 2020, in celebration of our 50th anniversary, Maine Coast Heritage Trust has been collaborating with painter Timothy P. Wilson on a “Maine Coast Sojourn.” The painter posed the idea of visiting MCHT preserves up and down the coast, painting in all seasons, in all kinds of weather, and all for a cause: to celebrate MCHT’s legacy of land conservation on the coast.
A special preview of selected work from Maine Coast Sojourn is on preview at Cove Street Arts, 71 Cove Street in Portland from September 17, 2020 – November 7, 2020. The full exhibition will take place in fall 2021 after being rescheduled from this fall due to the pandemic.
The artist and the gallery are generously donating a percentage of sales from “Maine Coast Sojourn” to MCHT and the ongoing effort to conserve the Maine coast and keep it open to all.
Timothy P. Wilson was raised in rural Maine. He attended the Rhode Island School of Design for illustration and worked briefly in the design field before returning to coastal Maine to pursue a career in painting.
Today, his work is sold internationally, and shown at Sloane Merrill Gallery in Boston, Steven Amedee in New York City, Noh/wave in Los Angeles, and Corey Daniels Gallery in Maine.
