Little Whaleboat Island Sunset Cruise
- Cancelled! -
This trip has been cancelled. Refunds are available at point of purchase. Thank you!
Get out for an evening on the water with Maine Coast Heritage Trust to see and celebrate the next great Casco Bay preserve!
They’re not making any more Casco Bay islands—Little Whaleboat Island West is one of the last undeveloped islands on the Bay and we’re working to conserve it. We can’t let this opportunity pass us by!
We invite you to step aboard the Odyssey in Portland, grab a seat (upper or lower deck), crack open your beverage of choice, and ride with us up Casco Bay to Little Whaleboat Island.
You’ll get the inside scoop on what makes this place so special and why we’re working to conserve it. Catch up with old friends or meet new ones who love the Maine coast like you do!
Hosted by MCHT’s Next Wave—the next generation of conservationists on a mission to keep the coast Maine.
We’ll be travelling aboard the Odyssey whale-watching boat. There is plenty of bench seating on two levels. The Odyssey has a small cabin on the first deck with limited seating inside. There are two bathrooms on board.
MCHT staff members and the boat’s captain will be narrating points of interest along the way and info about Little Whaleboat Island and other conservation projects in Casco Bay. We won’t be getting off the boat during the three-hour cruise.
Each guest will receive your own personally packaged box of munchies to enjoy during the cruise. Kids too!
Your ticket includes beer and wine for adults (21+ ID required) and non-alcoholic drinks for all ages.
What to bring:
- Extra layers for everyone—a fleece and jacket recommended. It gets chilly on the water as the sun goes down.
- Hat and sunglasses
- Binoculars if you have them
- Extra snacks for the kids
- A water bottle (help us cut down on plastic!)
- Strollers and pets are not allowed on board.
- The Odyssey is not wheelchair accessible
We ask all unvaccinated guests to wear masks.
