Seth Levy (he/him) was raised in Brunswick, Maine and is proud to serve an organization that protects the coastal landscapes that built his life-long commitment to conservation. Seth has worked with several conservation and recreation organizations in policy, outreach and development capacities. As an independent consultant, Seth helped the Pacific Crest Trail Association develop a corporate partnership program and helped outdoor publisher Trailspace.com develop a digital advertising program. Seth serves on the Boards of several recreation and conservation non-profits, and views conservation as his life-long commitment.
When he’s not at work, or volunteering to help people get outside, Seth writes on local food and drink (particularly craft beers and spirits) and outdoor gear. He also hikes, rides one of his growing collection of bicycles, and tries to stay centered with a yoga practice. Seth lives in Portland with his partner, Meghan, and their cat, Gigi.
Seth has been with MCHT since 2019.
On land conservation: “I find tremendous peace in natural surroundings—the coast, the mountains, and even in urban open greenspaces. Sunlight filtered through leaves, pine-scented air, an owl’s hoot and the moon on the snow: these are the things that make me happy. I’ve always felt that these things should be accessible and free to everyone. I grew up near MCHT’s Southern Maine Office in Brunswick, Maine, and I treasure the opportunity to empower people to protect the special places that made me who I am.”
On the job: As a member of the Engagement Team, Seth works to empower new and prospective donors to Maine Coast Heritage Trust, visiting with donors where ever they are. Anyone who values Maine’s coast has the power to protect it, and Seth’s role is to figure out how, and where, to bring that power to bear. Seth also works with MCHT’s Next Wave, a group of younger donors committed to keeping the coast Maine.
