Lori Johnson grew up in the local Brunswick area and graduated from the University of Maine in Orono with a concentration in Accounting. Lori is new to the Land Conservation arena but she has worked in a non-profit accounting setting for numerous years. Most recently, Lori was part of the Controller’s office at Bowdoin College working in the grant compliance area. Prior to that, Lori was in the Asset Management department at MaineHousing. She was involved with all accounting aspects of the MaineHousing’s financed multi-family portfolio. Lori is excited to use her past accounting experience to be part of the team that preserves land in her home state for all to enjoy.
On land conservation: “I grew up on a pick-your-own strawberries and vegetable-producing farm in Bowdoin, Maine. I have always had land to roam, but I realize many people do not. The land conservation work that MCHT does is very important. It gives everyone access to land to enjoy and experience.”
On the job: Lori is the lead accountant for Aldermere Farm and Erickson Fields preserves in Rockport. Additionally, she records land transactions for the organization, ensures MCHT is compliance with all grants received, and manages insurance transactions. Plus a whole lot more!
