Ron Howard, Maine Coast Heritage Trust’s Aldermere Farm General Manager, retired at the end of October 2017. His connection to the farm began years ago doing odd jobs for the former owner when Ron was a teenager. For 23 years, he worked outside any land-related profession. And in 2000, he joined our team as the farm manager, and returned to where he started.
Ron nurtured Aldermere’s growth from a private farm to an agricultural land preserve, benefitting the greater community. Ron aided with the creation of the Erickson Fields Preserve, developed youth programming, and helped grow the connection between Aldermere and the public.
“I’ve tried to show that beyond traditional land conservation objective there are other, powerful, community-related outcomes to conserving land.” – Ron Howard.
MCHT is grateful for Ron Howard’s dedication and amazing work. We wish you well in your next adventure. Ron said he will be helping his wife with her family's blueberry farm.
On August 7th, MCHT officially welcomed Terri McDonough as our new staff accountant. Though she started in a temporary role, she turned out to be such a natural fit that she became a permanent team member. Terri has worked in payroll administration, accounting, HR and customer service.
She was born and raised in South Portland, ME. As a kid, and now as an adult, she loves spending time out on Casco Bay. She lives in Brunswick with her husband, Marty. They have three daughters and one grandson. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, cooking and being active.
