Field Trip Description
Meet at MCHT's new stewardship barn in Somesville, where we'll depart for a quick and casual exploration of MCHT's Babson Creek preserve's woods, fields, and saltmarsh. We'll examine anything that catches our attention but keep a special lookout for migratory birds.
Directions & Where to Meet
We will meet at MCHT's new stewardship barn in Somesville. The barn is located on the west side of Route 102/198 just north of the junction of Routes 3, 102, and 198 in Somesville.
What to Bring & What to Expect
Participants should bring good walking shoes (not sandals), extra layers of clothing (examples: wind breaker, rain jacket, fleece), water, food, sun screen, insect repellent, and a hat. In addition, you are encouraged to bring a camera, binoculars, and field guides. Participants should expect easy to moderately difficult trails that will include inclines, uneven footing, and rough terrain.
