2008 Field Trip Photo Contest

Rules & Instructions

Overview: During its 2008 Field Trip Season, Maine Coast Heritage Trust is inviting trip participants to submit digital photographs taken during MCHT field trips into a photo contest. Winning entries from each trip will be displayed on the Maine Coast Heritage Trust web site, and a grand prize winner will be selected in October, at the completion of the season. The grand prize winner will be featured in a future edition of the Maine Heritage newsletter and will receive one free field trip registration in 2009 (value up to $75).

Eligibility: Contest participants must have attended a Maine Coast Heritage Trust field trip and submit photos that were taken during the trip. All subject matter (landscape, close up, portraits, etc.) will be considered. Employees, board and council members of Maine Coast Heritage Trust are ineligible.

Photo requirements: Each photo should be submitted at its original size, and in JPEG format to ensure the best possible quality. Photographs must be submitted via e-mail (trips@mcht.org) or via CD (1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 201, Topsham, ME 04086). Participants may submit up to 10 photos from each trip. Submissions must be received within 20 days of each trip.

Judging: Maine Coast Heritage Trust staff will determine winning photographs from each trip and will select the grand prize winner.

How to enter: E-mail photos to trips@mcht.org, or send a CD to MCHT at 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 201, Topsham, ME 04086 and let us know your first and last name as well as the name of the trip.

Ownership/Use Rights: Photographers retain the copyright to their photographs. By entering the contest, photographers agree to have their submitted photograph displayed on the MCHT.org website without any fee or other form of compensation, and agree that MCHT may display winning photos in a "past winners" photo gallery. Photos will be credited to the photographer named in the entry form. Entries (including non-winning entries) may be selected for display or use in other MCHT web pages or publications, with permission from the photographer. Entrants agree that MCHT may contact them to obtain permission for use of photos in this way.

Photos containing recognizable people must be submitted by regular mail and accompanied by a signed model release form.

Entries must be submitted by the original photographer. Do not submit a photo taken by someone other than yourself. You must be the sole owner of the copyright of any image submitted. Your submission of the photo and entry form is your guarantee that you are the author and copyright holder of the photo.
