Join in Coastweek Maine to help clean up the shores of Casco Bay's largest undeveloped island, watch for migrating hawks, and learn about the island's history and ecology. After the busy summer, we're sure to find lots of "flotsam and jetsam" to remove. And on a good weather day with a northerly wind, we may spot hundreds of hawks over the meadows and spruce woods, with the help of an accomplished birder who spends his summer studying local raptors. Bring your lunch, or sample some of "Maine's best seafood chowdah" at Dolphin Chowderhouse overlooking Pott's Harbor on your return.
Departs from South Harpswell, 9am-1pm, Free. Rain date September 28.
